The aim of Flag Safety Inspections (FSIs) is to enhance the safety standards of Sierra Leonean vessels and decrease the number of deficiencies that may result in the detention of the ship from Port State Control Authorities.
Our inspectors are located on over 30 countries around the world to ensure fast and proper arrangement of the inspections.

In case of an incident, an investigation may be initiated by this Administration, depending on the severity of the incident. An initial report with the details of the incident and reasons why the incident occurred is required to be submitted for all Sierra Leonean vessels which are involved in an incident.
The Master of the vessel involved in a marine incident is required to inform the Administration within 24 hours from the time of the incident.

All Sierra Leonean vessels are required to have onboard a copy of an “on board complaint procedure”. Contact information of this Administration shall be clearly indicated on the “onboard complaint procedure”.
Shipowners are requested to provide all seafarers with a copy of the on-board complaint procedure applicable to their ship(s) along with the Seafarer’s Employment Agreement.
